A Baby Was Born

by Diane Graebner

A Baby was born in a land far away
In a lowly old stable, in a bed made of hay

While angels watched over, the shepherds, they came
And they fell on their knees, singing praise to his name

In a land far away, scholars studied a star
And they came, bearing gifts, how they traveled so far

They followed the star to where Jesus did lay
And they knelt down before Him, asleep in the hay

Thousands of years have gone by since His birth
Born with Him were wishes for peace on our Earth

Because of some shepherds, a Babe and a star
The world is still kneeling to that stable afar.
